Referral Process

Find a referral process to meet your needs.

Help us, help you.

We have a referral process to meet the needs of all those who require our support.

Self referral

Everyone and anyone can self refer themselves, whether you are homeless, a low income family, a returning citizen or a young person in care. If you are in need of our support but would prefer to reach out to us yourself rather than through alternative channels please fill in the referral request form at the bottom of this page.

Our Aim
At Resole we understand the importance of foot health and the importance of an adequate pair of shoes. Aside from that we also understand the difference a fresh looking pair of sneakers can make to a persons self esteem and the way in which people view you.

Self Referral Experience
When a person comes into our hub to self refer, they simply let us know they are in need of footwear we then complete a self referral form with them and book them in to return and collect their pair of sneakers.

Upon coming in to collect, the individual will be able to try on their sneakers, making sure they fit correctly and comfortably and if not we are happy to change the sneaker, subject to the stock we have, to something more suitable to that person's foot.

All service users are then given a branded Resole bag, allowing them to leave feeling as though they have just been shopping in a well known store

Education Sector

We currently work with local primary and secondary schools based in the borough of Lambeth. Schools are able to refer families they feel would benefit from our services.

Our Aim
At Resole it is our aim to bridge the gap in terms of children engaging in sport and play. Various reports and forms of research have shown that there are a high number of children suffering from shoe poverty, impacting their social life in terms of in the playground and also how engaged children are during PE lessons and at times determining if they are ‘sick’ on the day of PE, as many children and or parents will try to find a reason to not attend due to embarrassment, lack of etc.

In 2019/2020, 14.1% of children aged 10 – 11 years old were considered overweight, with 21% considered obese. We are not suggesting footwear is the only solution however it can bridge the gap in terms of children feeling proud of the sneakers they wear when attending PE lessons, football club and so on.

Resole Family Experience
When families come in to our hub, we want them to feel as though they’ve been to take their family shopping rather than coming to an organisation due to suffering a shortfall.

Both children and their parent’s will receive a donation of footwear, in which they will try on their sneakers, make sure they fit correctly and comfortably and if not we are happy to change the sneaker chosen, subject to the stock we have, in order for everyone to leave with a smile.

All service users are then given a branded Resole bag, allowing them to leave feeling as though they have just been shopping in a well known store.

Custodial Sector

We are currently supporting the London Probation Service, providing those released from custody with a pair of trainers and one outfit upon their release.

Our Aim
Through our partnership with the London Probation Service it is our aim to bridge the gap in communication between returning citizens and probation but also to support the fight against reoffending.

Often those released from custody, do not have adequate clothing or footwear or it is not in keeping with the times. This leaves the person feeling as though they don’t look the part, that pressure coupled with going to a probation office and back to the family home is immense, which can often lead to that person calling an ‘old friend’ and either borrowing money or asking how they can make a quick bit of money to go and get what they feel they need. There is also a miss trust within the community, amongst those in custody and the custodial services such as police, probation etc it is our hope through our own lived experiences and the environment we provide that we will be able to bridge that gap and bring all services together with a sense of trust amongst all involved.

Returning Citizen Experience
Upon receiving the service users referral form, our admin team will call the service user to introduce ourselves and book them in for a collection.

When arriving at our hub, they will as per all services users be able to try on the sneakers we donate to ensure they fit well and are comfortable, if not we are happy to change the sneaker chosen, subject to the stock we have.

All service users are then given a branded Resole bag, allowing them to leave feeling as though they have just been shopping in a well known store and more importantly that they are again, a part of our society.

Social Care Sector

Working with Social Services we have been able to support unaccompanied refugee minors and looked after children (LAC). Both groups of children or young people at times have nothing to their name, often thrown into an environment completely unfamiliar to them and are left feeling overwhelmed. Social services are able to refer families and young people they feel would benefit from our services.

Our Aim
Although footwear may seem not as important, many of us do not realise that the first thing we do when meeting someone is look at their shoes, so we feel it’s important to give those children in need adequate footwear to bring some joy back to their current situations, make sure they are more comfortable in the environment they are in and to show a sense of community, that others do also care about their well-being.

It is our aim to alleviate pressures where possible but to also leave a lasting memory with those children and young people who are in need. Simply letting them know that someone cares can be life changing.

Social Care Experience
At Resole it is our aim to ensure we cater to all those in need whilst facilitating their current circumstance. In terms of SC referrals we try to factor in all circumstances, that being said the service user can either come in to our hub and experience the full Resole experience or alternatively if needed we where possible visit those in need, drop donations to social workers and lastly ship to the service user where possible.
